My 26 month old son Mikail absolutely hated traveling in the car for more than ten minutes at a time, until I bought a net laundry bag and tied it to the back of the passenger seat, so that it dangled in front of him and his seat. I filled it with his favourite toys (from that day) and he soon busied himself with playing with the goodies in his bag. Now he loves nothing more than settling down for a long drive with his books and toys and I can concentrate on driving.
