The best tip I ever read was in a wonderful book called "Toddler Taming: A Survival Guide for Parents" by Dr. Christopher Greene. It is...Always treat your children the way you would treat a friend in your house; e.g., If your friend accidentally spilled their drink you would not yell at them, "Now look what you've done....what have I told you about holding your cup properly....just look at my floor now! You will have to clean it up!"....would you? LOL. I really try to live by that and although you sometimes have to bite your tongue I must say that my children are happy, kind, caring people who are very considerate and I attribute a lot of that to living by this advice...of course thay are not perfect and neither am I or DH ....but we like this one!!
