My older son loved his Pacifier. He has had the same 2 green ones for a year now. He is getting close to 3 years old and I was wondering about the pacifier. Well, the other week he brought me his pacifier. He had a concerned look on his face as he showed me the hole in his beloved paci. I reacted by saying. "WOW!!! This is so exciting!! This means the paci fairy is coming!!! you are such a big boy!!" We told him the story that the paci fairy comes when you no longer need your paci. The paci fairy may cut off the tip or take the whole paci for another baby. The Paci fairy leaves a nice gift under the pillow also. So, a couple of nights went by and no paci fairy then one night my husband and I did it. We cut the tips off. Hoping and praying he would be fine with this. We left a brand new Gordon tain under the pillow wrapped. we wrote a note saying. "Dear Andrew thank you so much for all your love. You are such a big boy now it is time for me to go. Congratulations and hope you enjoy your surprise!!! Love the Paci fairy." Anyway, he was so proud of his letter and train and has had no problem with this. The time was right for him. I wanted to share this story with you all.
