Problem: I have found this to be very irritating and it's been a problem since he was 3. My 5 year old will talk to anyone even though he does not know them. When we are grocery shopping he will say "Hi" to every one who strolls by, he will start asking them questions like "What are you doing?" or he starts telling them, "My name is Chris and I am 5." I get very mad, I mean I know he is just being nice but he should never talk to strangers. I try and tell him that but he doesn't understand. Another example, if I order a pizza and he comes to the door, Chris will run to the door with me, go out in the hallway and start talking to this pizza man he doesn't even know!! he starts telling the man that "My daddy is at work." "My name is Chris." I don't want him to ever get picked up by a stranger someday and I don't know why he is like that. I don't know if I am the only one who has this problem but it's getting to be to much for me. Any suggestions?
Solution posted by "Simlife" from Northstreet, MI: My daughter did that to. They out grow it somewhat but she is still very out going, I think that it is great. You could explain to him that it is ok as long as you are there to talk to strangers but if you are not he cannot. That worked on mine.
