When introducing something new (such as training pants) or a new toy for the younger brother, I will put the item in bed with the child after he falls asleep.

In the case of sharing: when little brother wakes up with a new toy he is very excited and big brother has had no opportunity to stake a claim.

In the other case: it brings a whole new excitement to wearing potty pants and keeping them dry. Especially when they are magic potty pants that appear in the middle of the night.
