Ages of kids: 5, 4, 4.5 mos.

Problem: Help! My 4.5 month old baby screams for about an hour and a half between 7 pm and 9 pm on the days I'm not at home. I work a second shift job and baby is with either his dad, grandma or our sitter. He does not act this way when I'm at home. My poor stressed-out husband thinks that he is unable to console him since he's a breastfed baby and has suggested that we switch solely to bottle- feeding him. We both agree that breastmilk is best for baby, so I would maintain my supply simply by pumping. While there is no doubt this would work (after all I'm using the cadillac of breastpumps the Medela Lactina), I'm not ready to give up the closeness of nursing, not to mention the lack of warmth from a machine. My husband feels that I'm being selfish by not putting what's best for baby first. I disagree, but don't have a solution to the "screaming infant" problem. We are both up for any and all solutions. Please help quickly!!!
