Problem: My child is fourteen months old. His adjusted age is more like 11 months old. He is small (17lbs.) He has laryngotracheomalacia, which is a floppy larynx and trachea, which he will outgrow. Drinking a bottle is very time consuming (30 minutes to an hour. The doctors tell me to give him 28 oz. of formula, at least 15 to 18 oz. of food. He pretty much has to eat non-stop to keep up with this quantity. They stress calories and weight. He is not an under-nourished baby by any means. He is only 27 inches tall. Could anyone please make any recommendations of how I could increase caloric intake without increasing quantity, while insuring that he gets his nutrition? I would greatly appreciate any comments or ideas.
