Welcome to The #!Parentsroom!

A parenting website for parents of infants, toddlers, preteens and teenagers to post their parenting problems, find family friendly recipes, and get general parenting advice.

This award winning parenting website was originally created as the official homepage for the parents who chat on the #!Parentsroom parenting chat channel on IRC. Since its inception in 1995, it has grown into a parenting resource website in its own right. Although the IRC channel has died out, the parenting website lives on serving as a place for all parents to post their parenting problems, give solutions to other parents' problems, post opinions and submit parenting tips and tricks.

The Parentsroom was among the first places on the Internet for parents to get together and share their parenting views and opinions. There are years worth of parenting information stored within the pages of this site, so please take a good look around!

The #!Parentsroom Website was chosen as one of the top 500 sites on the web by HomePC Magazine AND we are now listed in "Harley Hahn's Internet & Web Yellow Pages."

Jill's Corner

Hi everyone! Our parenting problem and solutions boards are always busy! A big thank you to all of you who participate and help out other parents in need. We find that often someone will post about a problem on a certain subject, then as time goes by they will start to post solutions to others. Some of our boards like the Step Parent Board are more like "support groups." There's a great group of core people who seem to post there on a daily basis. They don't always have all the answers, but it helps to make people in similar situations know that they are not alone. Afterall, that's what The Parentsroom was created for over 5 years ago!

#!Parentsroom Mail-List

Please subscribe to our mailing list if you haven't already done so. The list is not distributed to anyone else, it is only used for the purpose of keeping #!Parentsroom parents informed of what is going on. Anyone who gets on the list, and wishes to be removed at any time, can easily do so with a simple request sent to the Parentsroom to delete them from the list.

The #!Parentsroom Award for Excellence!

We strive to be your complete web page for parenting information, but we realize we cannot do it all.
Award Designed by Todd Harrison
There are a number of other excellent parenting sites on the web. We would like to help our readers know which sites are the cream of the crop, and worth taking a look at. In this spirit, we have decided to take nominations for parenting sites that are deemed "excellent" by our readers. These sites MUST be truly excellent. They must have a professional look, have useful content, and be easy to navigate. We would prefer the page not be a "commercial" page, but will still give consideration to those. Non-Commercial pages will be given higher priority though. Anyone is welcome to nominate a site. We will check out all nominated sites, and those that we feel are worthy, will receive the above graphic to display on their page if they so choose. The honored sites will be displayed and linked on a new #!Parentsroom Award Page.

Have fun with the page! These pages change quite a bit so there's always the chance of a few pages that aren't working quite right. If you come across any, PLEASE send us a quick e-mail explaining which page is not working properly. We do try and catch all the errors, but occasionally something slips by us.

Did you know you could set this page as your default "home page" in your browser? You don't have to automatically go to Netscape's home every time you load up your browser (or microsoft's home for those who use IExplorer). If you enjoy this page, and find yourself coming here often, you might want to think about setting it as the default in your "Options," "General Preferences," "Appearance" area of your browser.

The #!Parentsroom is the proud recipient of The Editor's Choice Award from Reader's Digest's "LookSmart," the "Home PC Best of the Web top 500," the "StudyWeb - best educational resources on the web award," the Homeparents' "August '97 Best of the Net" Award, the "Cool Site of the Night Award," the "Janet's Chapter Site Award," "Dr. Webster's Web Site of the Day," the "A-Train Site Award," "Howard Barton Site of the Day," and we are listed in "Harley Hahn's Internet & Web Yellow Pages, 1997, 1998 and 1999 Editions."
