Meatball Sliders- Easy and Yummy!

Tiny meatball sandwiches are a hit at my house of picky eaters.   If the word "meatball" scares your children, call 'em pizza sandwiches!

  • 1 package of dinner rolls (I used potato rolls, 18 ct.)
  • 1 jar pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or mozzarella slices.  (Grated cheese looks more like pizza!)
  • 1 bag frozen meatballs

Empty the jar of pizza sauce into a saucepan on the stove, set at medium heat.  Add the frozen meatballs.  Let the mixture come to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes or so.

Split the dinner rolls in half to make sandwich buns.  Place the split rolls, cut side up, on a cookie sheet and place under the broiler for about 2 minutes until lightly browned.  Pull the cookie sheet back out of the oven and sprinkle the rolls with mozzarella cheese and return to the oven for just under a minute, til the cheese melts.

Remove cheesy toasted rolls from the oven.  Place 2-3 meatballs on each half roll and top with the other half of the roll.  Done!

These are not only fast and easy kid pleasers, they make great party food for a holiday, football or tailgate party!  You can even take them to the office.  The meatballs and sauce can be put into a slow cooker and transported to the party, then the sandwiches can assembled on site by the guests.

Each slider is about 200-250 calories, depending on the size of your rolls and how many meatballs you put on them.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
