Eating Out Without Breaking the Bank!

I'm going to admit it.  I'm lazy!

I work all day and the thought of coming home and cooking, then cleaning, then getting everyone's homework done/signed, baths taken, rooms picked up and allll the other stuff that has to be done every night, well, it wears me out.

So, we eat out a lot.  Or we eat in, with take out food.  It can get expensive!

One of the things we do is watch for kids eat free nights- that helps.

A more frequent meal is a couple of $5 pizzas from Little Ceasars- it's hard to beat the ease and cost of grabbing a few pizzas on the way home and my kids really like the pizza.  Clean up is easy too!

What are your favorite frugal eating-out tips?

Ideas are worth nothing unless executed

I like to pick up Taco Bell's 10 for $9.95 deal, or something close to that.  You can mix and match 10 tacos and burritos for about $10- that's not bad for cost.  Maybe not the healthiest thing in the world, but not a bad deal.

Zaxby's has 20 chicken tenders or wings for $12.99.  I pick up that and a large order of fries and it's pretty reasonable.

Eating out without breaking the bank.

If the meal is eaten at the restaurant, we drink water until the meal comes with a drink. Kids never finish or want a refill and drinks can be another couple of dollars or so for each kid. After a while then even stop whining about it.

OMG, drinks really do add up!

I go to the Dollar Store and get the Hi-C drink packets (there's 6 or 8 per box) and keep them in my purse.  We order water when we go out, then I put a drink packet in for the kids if they want.   Instant drinks that only cost $.18 instead of $1.89... for 4 of us, that really adds up.

Re: Eating Out Without Breaking the Bank!

I definitley check the Kids Eat Free list here A LOT.  If we are going out, we try to go where the kids eat free.

I thought I'd add that Shoney's lets kids under 4 eat free all the time.  Doesn't last long, but if you've got a toddler/preschooler it can help!
