How Old Does Your Child Have To Be To Stay Home Alone in SC?
its not always convenient to take five children with me on a 20 minute grocery run so i was just wondering what south carolina state law says about the age a child can be left alone legally? Don't get me wrong i would never leave my 5 or 2 yr old home alone even if it WAS legal but the others are 7 and 9 and would be fine for a short stay i think. thanks for any help!

The National SAFEKIDS Campaign recommends that no child under the age of 12 be left at home alone.

From: http://www.latchkey-kids.com/latchkey-kids-age-limits.htm it says South Carolina's rule is 8 years old to be left home alone. I can't find a reference, but I think that is for no more than an hour.
