Coupons? How Do You Stay Organized?

Hey all hi

I've really been trying to do better about cooking and eating at home and saving money on groceries.  I spend hours clipping and organizing coupons and I do save a ton of money at the store when I use them... but it just doesn't seem worth the time and energy that I have to put into it.  I dread going to the grocery store with my folders and lists!

i find myself just putting it off because it's too much of a hassle.  Anyone have any great tips to keep me from tossing the whole mess in the trash? trash

Thanks!

Re: Coupons? How Do You Stay Organized?

Many stores will now do digital coupons. The coupon codes are applied to your loyalty card online and when you check out, scan your card and the discounts are applied. I know this is available at Kroger,  Harris Teeter, and probably some other stores too. Check around for digital coupons on Cellfire.com and the website for your preferred grocery store. Good Luck  goodjob

Re: Coupons? How Do You Stay Organized?

I organize my coupons by the name of the brand such as General Mills or Starbucks.  I found that when I had them organized by product (dairy, breads), they were unmanageable.  There were too many of them to look through to find what I was looking for.

I also don't ever print or cut any item that I would not consider buying.  Sounds simple but I know people who print and cut everything under the sun to make sure the item doesn't go on sale without having a coupon to stack on the sale price.  I don't see how they do it.

I use Southern Savers and find the store that I want to shop and see what's on sale.  If there is a printable coupon (which the lady who does this will link to it), I will print it off too.

My coupons

Ok, this is how I do it.

I only shop at one store (Kroger because they take Cellfire coupons) and I go through and take notes about the layout of the store.  I don't sort by category aphabetically, I sort by aisle.

So, I know fruit snacks, cereal and peanut butter are all on the same aisle. So I put those together.   Then when I'm on that aisle, I can find what I need.

Keeping up with my little monster is fun.
