Protector, Provider, Disciplinarian, or Entertainer? Which one best describes you? You may be a bit of all four, but which one would be ranked #1?
Protector: Your family's safety is paramount. Home security systems, baby monitors, car seats, safety gates, child proofing books...these items and more are definitely on your radar! Baby sitters and daycares are screened carefully. Medical needs are handled in a timely fashion.
Provider: Financial concerns are top priority. There's probably a check-off list of needs such as childcare, education, special programs (sports, music, dance, art), and medical. Giving your children more advantages than you had is important.
Disciplinarian: Behaviors speak louder than words. You set the rules of conduct and a moral atmosphere in the home. Church attendence and family traditions are a way of life. Respect is a key word in your household. Even though discipline may be a partnership between parents, you generally have the last word regarding disciplinary action.
Entertainer: The family that plays together stays together. That's your motto. You are chief-in-charge of vacations, weekend events (ball games, cook-outs, etc)and holiday traditions. Involvement in your child's extracurricular activities is important. Your garage is likely full of sports equipment and holiday yard decorations. If you have a basement, that's where everyone gathers (you, your kids and the neighborbors' kids). Your backyard has a treehouse, swingset and sandbox. Maybe even a pool.
