Problem: My 11 week old is drooling a great deal and seems to be very fussy. She had her DPT shot last week but I am concerned that she is teething. There is little I can do for her as she is not old enough to use teething rings, etc Is there anyone who's baby began teething very early or who reacted an especially long time to the immunization?
Solution submitted by JoAnn from Garland, TX: This isn't really a solution, but my 11 week old is doing the same thing, and he has not had his shots yet. So don't blame it on the shots. I think just some babies drool early and some do not. My 2 year old never drooled, even when teething. But when my 19 yr. old son was a baby (and even now, ha ha) he drooled all the time. My 11 week old is very fussy too, but I blame that on other things, like not taking naps, because he sleeps 11 hours at night. There's lots of reasons for babies to be fussy, and everyone wants to blame it on teething. I have 4 children, believe me I know. If you want to talk, e-mail me at: wwiz@gte.net.
