My Side Of The Mountain; By Jean Craighead George

Review By Corie W. (aka MusiCor), age 9.5

My side of the Mountain is a very interesting story. In my opinon it was one of the best books ever written. The story all starts when 12 year old Sam Gribley is sick and tired of living in the crowded city so he packs his bags with only a few things like flint and steel to make fire. Sam Gribley has to count on the wilderness to survive. Sam ends up making an amazing house from hollowed out hemlock tree, to survive the winter. He has a lot of adventures along the way. Read the story to find out the surprise ending!

I recommend this book for girls and boys around 8 and up who are good readers. At the beginning you may think the book makes no sense, but after you read into it, you'll see is really a wonderful book!
