Ages of kids: 10, 3, 5 months

Problem: My 3 year old has starting crying or whimpering constantly during the night. She does not seem to respond to us being there and asking her what is wrong. At first we did not think that she is in a conscious state. It wakes our 5 month old and my husband and I are getting no sleep. We have tried making sure she does not eat sugar after dinner, make sure she does not have to go potty. Any advise would be appreciated.
