Time to Switch from Crib to Toddler Bed?

Problem: My 2 year old daughter has started to sleep with her legs stuck out of the crib (between the bars). Sometimes she is slightly stuck....meaning I can get her out but she usually can't. She has never tried to climb out of her crib, but I can't help but feel that maybe she is ready for a toddler bed...does this make any sense? Should we start shopping for a bed?

Solution submitted by Liam's dad from Antelope, CA: My son has been in a toddler bed since he was about 1 year. Not only does he sleep more comfortably, but he never really enjoyed the crib anyway. I, like you, faced the dilemma of the switching. My wife and I decided that as long as he is comfortable and safe(bed rails), there is no reason why he shouldn't be in a toddler bed. Not to mention he is and has always been a very large baby. It sounds like it is time for the switch for your child. Let her get used to the new surroundings before she goes it alone (sleep next to her a couple of nights). I am sure she will adjust just fine. Good Luck!
