Ages of kids: 2.5
Problem: My 15 month old is constantly climbing on something. I am afraid he is going to get seriously hurt!!! I have tried scolding and even spanking but he still will not stop. When he gets caught he says "NO NO NO NO" and puts his hand over his leg where I usually give him a little swat. Any suggestions on how to stop him from doing this? I am due in 8 weeks and exhausted from chasing him, can't keep up with my housework because I can't take my eyes off of him!! What will I do when the baby comes and needs attention while he is busy climbing on the table, the desk, the cabinets etc.... Please Help Me!!! Thanks!!!
Solution submitted by Karen from Brea, CA: My son is also climbing everything. He will even push toys, chairs, etc. over to whatever he wants to reach. So far the only thing I've been able to do, is to keep him confined to a "safe" area in the house. I've tried to remove all temptation. He does still try to escape and do what he wants anyway, but I'm hoping that he'll learn soon. I'd appreciate any tips anyone else has to offer.
