Problem: My 13 year old daughter is very concerned because she has not started to physically develop. She gets really upset with me whenever I tell her that going through puberty just takes time. I must admit, I'm starting to get concerned about her because I don't want this to affect her self esteem. I don't know what to do.
Solution submitted by Helper from Mohegan Lake, NY: Explain that for girls, puberty, especially breast development does not have necessarily end until about 17 or 18. You can share your own stories of puberty and if teasing ensues in school you can help by buying your daughter a special training bra. You should explain that if she stuff her bra she will only be made fun of more.
