Ages of kids: 10 months, 9 years

Problem: My wife and I are increasingly at odds over the proper parenting methods to use with her 9 year old daughter. Treating her as I would my own child, I give rewards based on a performance level, as well as many freebies (i.e. she can use the computer only after she's earned time. The problems arise when my wife thinks I'm being unfair (upon discovering she had not had a bath for several days, I gave her the option of bathing before using the computer on not going on the computer at all). This led to an incredible fight between us (my wife and I). I feel I'm doing the right thing. Any suggestions?
