Problem: We have a little boy who will be Four yrs. old in one week. Lately he has been wetting his pants and his bed quite frequently. It appears that he has regressed in this area and we are getting a little frustrated. At one time he was using the toilet during the day and staying dry at night. we thought we had the potty thing whipped. when he was staying dry at night, i would get him up with me in the middle of the night, when I would go. Here in the last 1-2 months he has wet his bed 2-3 times a night and his pants throughout the day. We have to remind him to go most of the time during the day and to get him up frequently during the night to use the toilet, but after getting up 3-4 times at night he still ends up wetting the bed. We have tried to cut back the amount of fluids we give him a few hours before bed time, we have tried bribery and even put pull-ups back on him at night. I didn't want to do that but we were up all night changing sheets. I have put diapers back on him during the day, until I read we should not humiliate the problem. Please show me a dry bed and dry pants at the end of the tunnel!!
Editor's Note: From my understanding of bedwetting, etc., and because your son was once dry during the day and night, I would have him thoroughly examined by a doctor to check for a bladder or kidney infection, or any other physical cause. You need to rule out physical problems before deciding what else to do.
