Ages of kids: 4 1/2 and 12 1/2

Problem: My 4/1/2 year old son has no interest in potty training at all. It does not bother him to sit in a poopy pull-up or be wet in a pull-up. I have tried the reward system, positive reinforcement, promising him things that he wants or likes.

He has been in a new day care facility since September and both his teacher and I thought being around other kids who were potty trained would be the answer. NOT!!! Help!! His teacher is being very understanding, however, I think she is running out of patience!

Solution submitted by Jane from WI: Have you tried real underpants? The pull-ups don't bother him because he doesn't feel that wet! But he will feel both wet and cold in real underpants. Buy plastic pants to put over them so that you aren't continually having to clean up a pee pee floor and furniture. Also, I know this sounds mean, but have you tried making him take off the wet or poopy pants? Both my kids were grossed out having to do this. Good luck!
